Šeštadienį Meksikoje vykusiame „UFC Fight Night 268“ turnyre pergalę šventė mažiau nei prieš savaitę apie galimybę žengti į narvą sužinojusi ir Sofią Montenegro pakeitusi meksikietė Regina Tarin (8-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC), vieningu teisėjų sprendimu (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) įveikusi lietuvę Ernestą Kareckaitę (6-2-1 MMA, 1-2 UFC).
Šiame turnyre buvo paskelbta tik viena „vakaro kova“ ir ja tapo būtent R. Tarin ir E. Kareckaitės dvikova – abi kovotojos uždirbo po 100 tūkst. JAV dolerių premijas. UFC gerbėjai tokiam sprendimui pritarė ir neslėpė, kad tai buvo viena geriausių kada nors matytų moterų MMA kovų.
„Kareckaitė yra tikra kovotoja. Jos kovose niekada nebūna nuobodžių akimirkų“, – rašė vienas iš fanų.

Tuo tarpu dėl teisėjų sprendimo fanų nuomonės išsiskyrė. Daug kas sutiko, kad rezultatas 30-27 visiškai neatspindėjo įvykių narve. Buvo tokių sirgalių, kurie matė E. Kareckaitės pergalę 29-28, bet pastebėjo, kad Meksikoje buvo naivu tikėtis, jog teisėjai neduos pergalės vietinei kovotojai.
